Why did DECA choose People to People Ambassador Programs to go global?
  • Delegates will enjoy exclusive access and unique experiences—including custom-designed activities for DECA—based on P2P's contacts around the world.

  • People to People gives students the kinds of deep exposure that colleges are looking for: more than 80% of their participants gain acceptance to their first-choice college.

  • Their Washington School of World Studies awards transferable credit for the rich education you can gain on the program.

  • From GPS-enabled cell phones to trained 24-hour responders, they've set the bar for traveler safety.

  • Giving back is a part of every journey; delegates can even earn service-learning hours while traveling.

  • The programs' tuition is virtually all-inclusive, and offers families a good value for their investment.

  • They enjoy broad support from parents; last year, 98% called the program a valuable educational experience for their child.

Educating for the future
You'll be accompanied by DECA leaders. On this journey that's packed with educational experiences, your leaders will be there to help you examine, discuss, and apply what you're learning to your future success.

Your leaders will also be walking you through 12 hours of pre-travel orientation with your fellow DECA delegates. Both students and parents attend these meetings to get acquainted with the leaders, each other, the destination and its culture, and the safety measures and standards that People to People has developed over its nearly 50 years of student travel.

Equipped for safety
The DECA leaders will follow People to People Ambassador Programs' proven protocols to keep students safe. People to People requires a background check, references, interview, and CPR certification for every leader traveling with students. They also provide leaders with a raft of safety resources:
  • In-country delegation managers who travel with the delegation 24/7
  • Online and in-person safety training
  • 24-phone support during travel
  • Credit cards for emergency use
  • GPS-enabled cell phones for immediate contact and easy monitoring
  • Trained response teams who can rush to the delegation if needed
  • Dietitian approval of the delegation's menus
  • Industry's only senior director of health and safety, to continually enhance safety protocols
  • Specialized medical team to review and anticipate health needs
  • Clearly defined procedures
  • On-call services 365 days a year
